Subhadra 5th Instalment: Field Enquiry Cut-Off List

If you’re a Subhadra Yojana beneficiary in Odisha, the next few days matter more than any period since you first applied. The state government has ordered all field enquiries to be completed by July 25, 2026, and the final beneficiary list for the 5th instalment is being locked on the basis of those checks. Names are being verified door-to-door, and some are being removed. Here’s what’s happening, why, and what you can do before the Rakhi Purnima payout.

What Is the Field Enquiry, and Why Is It Happening Now?

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who heads the Women and Child Development Department, recently reviewed preparations for the 5th instalment and directed district administrations to finish all field-level verification by July 25. The instalment itself is scheduled for release around Rakhi Purnima in August 2026.

The reason for the enquiry is simple: the government wants an error-free payment list. Before ₹5,000 lands in over a crore bank accounts, officials at the block and Gram Panchayat level are confirming that every listed woman is alive, eligible, and not duplicated across households.

The Numbers Behind the Verification

The scale of this exercise explains the strictness:

  • 1.15 crore total applications have been registered under the scheme so far
  • 3.17 lakh of those are fresh applications received in the 2026–27 financial year
  • After initial scrutiny, about 1.02 crore women were identified as potential beneficiaries for the 5th instalment
  • District-level verification has already excluded 5,277 names after confirming the deaths of those beneficiaries
  • The eligible list currently stands at roughly 1.01 crore women

Across the first four instalments, more than ₹20,648 crore has already been transferred through DBT, and over 2.68 lakh grievances have been resolved. So this is not a new crackdown — it’s the routine cleanup that happens before every payment cycle, only with a firm deadline attached this time.

Why Names Get Cut During Field Enquiry

If a name drops off the list at this stage, it’s almost always for one of these reasons:

1. Deceased Beneficiary Records

The largest confirmed category in this round. When a beneficiary passes away, her name is removed after verification by the district administration.

2. Eligibility Changes

A woman who has since taken a government job, started drawing a government pension, or crossed the income limit can be flagged during the door-to-door check.

3. Duplicate or Incorrect Entries

More than one application from the same household, or mismatched Aadhaar and bank details, can put a name under review.

4. Failed Bank or NPCI Linkage

Even if your name survives the enquiry, payment still fails if your account isn’t Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled. This is a separate but equally common trap.

How to Make Sure You Survive the Check

You don’t need to panic — you need to verify three things this week.

  • Step 1: Check your application status on the portal. Go to subhadra.odisha.gov.in, open the Application Status section, and log in with your registered mobile number. If your status shows approved, you’re in the working list.
  • Step 2: Confirm your bank account is DBT-active. Visit your bank branch and ask two direct questions: is my Aadhaar seeded to this account, and is NPCI mapping active? If either answer is no, fix it now — the payment bridge won’t wait for you in August.
  • Step 3: Cooperate with field verification. If an Anganwadi worker or block official visits your home for enquiry, provide your Aadhaar and bank passbook details accurately. A missed or failed verification visit can cost you this instalment.

What If Your Name Was Wrongly Removed?

File a grievance immediately on the Subhadra portal with your application ID and supporting documents, or call the official helpline 14678. You can also visit your Block Development Office (BDO) or the District Women and Child Development office in person. Wrongful removals — for example, being incorrectly flagged as a government employee — can be reversed, but only if you act before the payment list is finalised.

The Bottom Line

The July 25 field enquiry deadline is the last gate before the 5th instalment. The government’s goal is a clean, transparent list; your goal is to make sure you’re on it. Check your status, activate DBT, and respond to verification visits — those three actions cover nearly every reason a genuine beneficiary loses her payment.
